What is BotaniGard?

BotaniGard ES is a highly effective biological insecticide containing Beauveria bassiana, an entomopathogenic fungus that attacks a long-list of troublesome crop pests (not plants) like aphids, thrips, whitefly, spider mites, mealybugs, root aphids and more!

Is BotaniGard 22WP organic?

It is available in different commercial formulations for pest management in agriculture, nurseries, landscape, greenhouse, turf, and home gardens. BotaniGard ES and 22WP are the conventional formulations and Mycotrol-O was the organic-approved formulation, all distributed by BioWorks, Inc.

Is BotaniGard a pesticide?

BotaniGard ES is a biological insecticide (Mycoinsecticide – Emulsifiable Suspension) for the control of adult and immature stages of aphids, thrips, whiteflies and more.

How long does it take for BotaniGard to work?

7-10 days
Typically, it takes 7-10 days after the first spray to see control. Application rates, frequency, spray coverage and insect numbers impact the speed at which acceptable control is achieved. BotaniGard ES is most effective when used early, before high insect populations develop.

How do you use BotaniGard?

Apply ¼ to 1 quart BotaniGard ES per acre. Apply in sufficient water to thoroughly cover foliage infested with insects, typically 5 to 100 gallons of water per acre. Final spray volume may be up to 400 gallons per acre. Water volume depends on spray equipment, crop canopy and target pest.

Can you mix BotaniGard with nutrients?

Do not mix BotaniGard in concentrated fertilizer solutions. greenhouse, all troughs, and anything that contacts the plants. NOTE: Use caution when making BotaniGard applications to open blooms, especially on varieties known to be sensitive.

Can you use BotaniGard es as a soil drench?

We do not recommend drench applications with BotaniGard ES and MAXX. The oil carrier in these products can be detrimental to plant root systems when applied in this manner.

Is BotaniGard safe for bees?

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) approved the use of BotaniGard Maxx (pyrethrin + a fungicide, Beauveria bassiana) to control insect pests in hemp. Pyrethrins are broad-spectrum insecticides that are toxic to honey bees and other pollinators.

Can you use BotaniGard in flower?

Use in rotation (8 fl oz) or combination (4 fl oz) with BotaniGard 22WP or Mycotrol WPO. Use caution when spraying during flowering. Turn lights off during spray, have fans running for 1-2 hours dry time and avoid high humidity. Use fine droplet size and avoid runoff.

Is BotaniGard Maxx safe?

BOTANIGARD MAXX has shown plant safety but has not been tested on all plant varieties or in all tank mixes. Use caution when making applications to open blooms, especially on varieties known to be sensitive.

How much is BotaniGard Maxx per gallon of water?

Instructions. Application Rates: Apply at a rate of up to 2 quarts of BotaniGard MAXX per 100 gallons of spray volume (4 tsp./gallon).
